Our Puppy Process

Bringing home an FBGR puppy begins with making sure our dogs and your household are a good fit. Here is what to expect—from submitting your request through go-home day.

  • Tell us about your household, lifestyle, goals, and what you are looking for in an FBGR puppy.

  • We review each request to make sure expectations, lifestyle, and the needs of a field-bred Golden are a good fit. We’ll contact you with any follow-up questions.

  • Once your Puppy Request Form has been reviewed and approved, we’ll invite you to submit a $500 non-refundable deposit. The deposit is applied toward the total purchase price and secures your position on our waitlist.

    Payment instructions are provided directly to approved families. Please do not submit a deposit before receiving approval from FBGR.

  • Waitlist order is based on the date deposits are received. Families may defer their place to wait for a preferred litter, sex, or timing, subject to your deposit policy.

  • As litters are born and evaluated, you’ll receive updates about availability, timing, and the puppy-matching process.

  • Every FBGR puppy is raised with daily hands-on care, intentional socialization, and age-appropriate early neurological stimulation and exposure. Our puppies grow up around normal household and farm activity and are introduced to a variety of people, surfaces, sounds, sights and outdoor environments.

    Dewclaws are left intact. Before go-home, puppies receive age-appropriate deworming and vaccinations, and their families receive complete health records and preparation information.

    Every puppy is also covered by our written 24-month health guarantee. Full terms and requirements are provided in the FBGR puppy contract.

    We remain available as a resource throughout the dog’s life, and an FBGR dog should never be surrendered to a shelter; we will always help with placement or accept the dog back when needed.

  • Approved families receive pickup timing, final-payment instructions, health records, feeding information, and preparation details before go-home day.
